Dear our sport community,
I would like to begin by expressing my heartfelt gratitude to the Turkiye Deaf Sport Federation for their commitment to hosting the upcoming Winter Deaflympics in Erzurum. I also want to acknowledge all contributors including the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Turkiye,  Metropolitan Mayor of Erzurum, and Governor of Erzurum for making this event possible. As we eagerly anticipate the Winter Deaflympics in 2024, it is noteworthy that the first international deaf games took place in 1924. This remarkable coincidence marks the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf organising Deaflympics for 100 years and it is indeed a momentous occasion. It presents a unique opportunity for all participants to immerse themselves in the true spirit of the Winter Deaflympics. Over the past century, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to promoting deaf sports and fostering an environment of fair play and integrity. Our enduring motto, “Equality through sport,” underscores the strength we derive from our unity. We stand stronger together, driven by a shared passion for deaf sports. I eagerly look forward to the Winter Deaflympics in Erzurum and the opportunity to continue our legacy of promoting inclusivity, unity, and the values of fair play. Together, we can ensure that this historic event is a resounding success.
